I had to cheat on my normal barber I've had for the last 8 years or so because I was pressed for time last weekend and needed a cut ASAP. Found this place on Yelp and figured I'd give it a shot.

I think I might have a new barber.

People say what they may about the decor, but the fact that this place hasn't changed much in the last 20-30 years is just fine with me. Arlington is an old city, and needs more of the older buildings to remain what with all the new development.

$14 for a cut is a freaking steal in my book. I had Chris who actually gave me one of the nicest fades I've had in quite sometime. Everyone in there was cool and just an overall proper barbershop atmosphere. The classical music in the background added to the cookyness of the place too.

I got a great haircut from Matt yesterday. I asked for a distinct Mohawk and he got right to work with the clippers!!! It is $16 with tip. Cash only but there is an ATM a few stores down at the Rite Aid. I think I found my new barber. I travel down from MD to VA on metro just to get my haircut from Matt. I definitely recommend this barbershop to everyone!!! Will definitely be back for another haircut when I need another haircut.

Whoa, shout out to Jose for the fresh cut!

He completely changed my opinion on this place regarding the certain style I like. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he was able to make my hair completely identical to the picture! I could also tell he was truly a perfectionist with how long he took and his attention to detail. He made sure all my lines were sharp and even, along with a nice trim off the top. His expertise was well worth the $16 I spent (tip well folks!).

The next time I come through Pete's, I'm going to make sure to get cut by Jose because I appreciate when someone takes their time.

An old school neighborhood barber shop that is locally owned, inexpensive, fast and most importantly finish your haircut with a warm lather and straight razor shave on the back of the neck! Many of these sorts of shops seem to go away when the barber who owns it retires, but Pete's typically has 3-4 barbers working at any given time and there can still be a wait, so it doesn't look like they're going anywhere. The barbers are friendly and will give you a good basic cut for $16, though some of the younger guys aren't as skilled or fast as their more experienced colleagues. If you're not the talkative type, there are two flat screen TVs playing ESPN, otherwise you can probably strike up a conversation about sports, movies or the latest episode of "The Walking Dead" to pass the time.

You walk in to hear the typical barbershop banter you'd expect at any old-fashioned barbershop. Immediately, you're kindly greeted by one of the barbers and when you sit down, they happily chat with you (if you like) about sports, weather, family life, current events, and pretty much anything else you can think of. What I love the most is the family atmosphere and the fact that if I ask for "the usual", they'd know exactly what I wanted (after a few visits, of course).

And of course, they're all professionals.

I came from NYC where you find 10 good barbershops within a 5 block radius to Northern Virginia were everything is haircuttery or a trendy DC establishments. I finally understood why everyone just settled for a buzz cut. I visited all of the places listed on yelp first including this one, when it was owned by Pete. That dude's haircuts sucked. He was terrible at it. All the other one's were really barbershops run by folks who had no business touching your hair or overpriced stylists.

The new owners have a more NYC barbershop feel where there is sports going on, a friendly atmosphere and enough variety of barbers to get you what you need. I suggest you try them all out to get your feel.

The most important quality of a barber is communication. If you get a bad haircut, they will want to know so they can fix it next time. This place does that.

I can't ask for more. Great vibe.

Great haircut, great service. Will definitely be back for my next. Fastest haircut I've ever gotten and I was very pleased with it. Very reasonable price as well.

After trying a few alternatives in the Ballston / Falls Church Area I started coming to Pete's. I've had great success in quality consistent haircuts at a very fair price. I typically get my hair cut by either Chris or Matt, but every barber in the shop seems to be very good and professional, and Chris (who runs the shop) seems to have very high standards.

Not only can they cut a very good fade (never had a line or mistake), I've had beard trims on occasion when I'm tired of concentrating myself, and I always get what I request. In response to another reviewer who stated the straight razor neck trim was not done, I've had it done by Chris, Matt, and Khalid without having to ask (with a splash of after shave / tonic), though on very busy days I will acknowledge I've seen it skipped if not requested, likely in the interests of time.

Also of note, they've started opening on Sundays for a short period of time for those of us with busy schedules that can't make it in during the normal hours.

Very Amazing service, me and my brother were attended quickly by Khalid. We were very pleased by how he had left our cuts the exact way we asked for. If you bring a kid they offer them a lollipop. I would recommend this place to anyone, fantastic service and cuts.

A complete stranger at the grocery store asked where I got my haircut. I was sort of surprised. It was a week after I got it cut. He said it looked like the stylist knew what they were doing and he needed a haircut. I told him it was what I would call an old time barbershop far from a hair stylist but barbers have experience.

By far the best barber shop in Virginia. I usually get my haircut from Chris or Matt and they are both very attentive and detail oriented. You cannot beat the price for the level of service they provide. The atmosphere is great and they're extremely friendly, multiple customers just stop in the shop to say hi while Chris greets everyone with a very cool and hip attitude. I drive 40 minutes to get my haircut because it's the best.
